The Chuckwagon Challenge will be operated as a 50/50 fundraising event for the Dewberry and District Agricultural Society in their quest to raise funds to build a new ice arena. Half of the funds raised will go to the Dewberry and District Agricultural Society and the other half will be paid to the winning entrant with a prize payout to the winner following Day 10 of the Calgary Stampede. The last two challenges have resulted in a prize payout of over $5000 to the winner(s) and this year is shaping up to be a comparable amount
After paying the entry fee of $50.00 every entrant shall fill out a selection sheet marking 2 drivers of their choice out of the four sections for a total of 8 drivers selected.
Points shall be awarded as they are normally with the top time of the day (including penalties) as posted by the Calgary Stampede with the winner receiving 36 points, 2nd receiving 35 points and so on until the final driver with the slowest time receives 1 point. Each entrant shall then have their 8 drivers points tallied and recorded each day including the last and final day of the Calgary Stampede. No aggregate points will be considered or used during the challenge.
At the end of 10 days the entrant with the most points shall be declared the winner and be paid 50% of the proceeds from the Challenge.
If there is a tie for the most points awarded to entrants the tie shall be decided as follows:
1. The entrant who has the sudden death $100,000.00 Calgary Stampede winner in his pick of drivers shall be the winning entrant.
2. If there is still a tie then the entrant who has the driver who has won the most day (top time) money during the Calgary Stampede shall be the winning entrant.
3. If there is still a tie then the entrant who has the driver with the most top 3 day money (3 top times) shall be the winning entrant
4. If there is still a tie then the entrants shall have to participate in a foot race around the 5/8 mile race track in Dewberry, AB and the winner of the footrace shall be the winning entrant. JUST KIDDING!
If there is not a single winner declared after rule #3 then the remaining entrants who are tied shall split the prize payout equally.
The Dewberry and District Agricultural Society would like to thank all who participated and hope you have a lot of fun. The points will be added daily and posted on this website for those wanting to keep track of their progress. Please note that at no time will entrant’s selection of drivers be posted due to confidentiality.
